Dan Tapiero Outlines Growth-Stage Crypto Strategy and the Future of AI Agents

Macro investor Dan Tapiero, founder of 50T Funds, explained his deliberate focus on late-stage digital asset equities rather than direct token investments or early-stage venture bets. Tapiero noted that his growth funds target mature companies with at least $50 million to $100 million in revenue—such as Kraken, Ledger, Circle, and MoonPay—to protect institutional capital from the crypto market's extreme drawdowns while capturing upside from expanding digital infrastructure.

Tokenizing Illiquid Markets and AI Rails

Looking out over a three-to-seven-year horizon, Tapiero emphasized that while liquid asset tokenization through stablecoins is already proven, the ultimate market opportunity lies in unlocking hundreds of trillions of dollars frozen in illiquid real estate and land. He highlighted a recent $40 million investment in MoonPay, pointing to its fiat-to-crypto moat and its strategic expansion into AI agent functionality. Tapiero argued that software-based AI agents will natively rely on blockchain rails for seamless micro-transactions, describing distributed ledgers as the natural settlement layer for code-to-code economic activity.

Addressing broader market conditions, the former global macro trader reaffirmed his long-term thesis that all value and money will ultimately migrate on-chain. Tapiero views Bitcoin as foundational collateral for the ecosystem and sees AI-driven efficiency as a massive long-term deflationary force that will support broader productivity even through changing interest rate cycles.
