Orange BTC Research Lead Points to Currency Debasement and Structured Yield Products as Next Bitcoin Catalysts

In a recent video interview, Sam, Director of Strategy and Research at Orange BTC, highlighted how macroeconomic pressures and sovereign currency debasement continue to solidify the long-term investment case for Bitcoin. Pointing to official core Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) metrics, Sam noted that the U.S. dollar has lost 20% of its purchasing power over the past five years. While recent consolidation around the $60,000 to $65,000 level was prolonged by a market-wide deleveraging event and capital temporary shifting into artificial intelligence stocks, Bitcoin's long-term performance and monetary characteristics continue to stand out against traditional equities and fixed-income assets.

Expanding Financial Products and Marginal Demand

Beyond spot Bitcoin holdings, Sam emphasized the critical role of structured financial products in capturing institutional capital. Highlighting income-generating credit and preferred equity instruments—including Orange BTC's launch of the Digi 11 ETF in Brazil as well as products like STRC and Theta—he explained how these vehicles meet the mandates of large capital pools that cannot hold spot digital assets directly. By offering stable yields supported by Bitcoin balance sheets, these structured products embed Bitcoin deeper into global capital markets and generate marginal demand from traditional investors seeking inflation hedges.

Addressing debates within the cryptocurrency community regarding self-custody versus financialization, Sam argued that institutional treasury strategies, structured yield products, and self-custody ecosystems are mutually beneficial. While central banks may currently favor gold for sovereign reserves, Bitcoin's absolute fixed supply, digital verifiability, and asymmetric upside position it as a superior long-term asset. As macroeconomic uncertainty persists and major asset managers advocate for small allocations to digital assets, the expanding universe of Bitcoin-linked products is expected to broaden overall adoption.
