Jordy Visser Says Autonomous AI Agents Will Drive Next Wave of Crypto Adoption
Investor Jordy Visser argues that artificial intelligence agents are becoming the primary users of crypto networks, decoupling digital assets from traditional liquidity cycles. Visser expects autonomous software entities to populate crypto's underutilized infrastructure and accelerate global productivity.

Traditional macroeconomic indicators like Federal Reserve rate hikes and M2 money supply fluctuations are losing their predictive power over asset prices, according to investor Jordy Visser. Speaking in a recent podcast discussion, Visser noted that ongoing resilience across stocks and crypto despite higher interest rates reflects an ongoing productivity boom driven by technological innovation rather than central bank liquidity.
According to Visser, the rapid rise of multi-agent AI systems will serve as the primary catalyst for the next phase of blockchain utilization. He characterized many existing smart contract networks and layer-2 blockchains as "ghost rails"—infrastructure built in anticipation of activity that human users were slow to adopt. As AI agents increasingly manage workflows, execute micro-transactions, and interact autonomously, they will require trustless, programmable, and friction-free payment guardrails that traditional banking systems cannot provide.
While Visser maintains that Bitcoin remains the premier long-term asset for preserving value over the next several decades, he highlighted that broader crypto verticals—including privacy protocols, tokenized real-world assets, and stablecoins—will see accelerated demand from digital software agents. As autonomous systems take on complex economic tasks, Visser predicts that automated agentic transactions will transform global commerce and validate the long-term design of decentralized rails.
