Crypto Executives Outline 10-Year Thesis on Institutional Adoption, AI Convergence, and Asset Tokenization
Industry leaders from Pantera Capital, DCG, and Ava Labs discussed the steady shift toward institutional blockchain adoption, the practical intersection of AI and Web3, and the global impact of real-world asset tokenization.

During a panel moderated by podcast host Scott Melker, digital asset executives emphasized a growing divergence between short-term retail sentiment and long-term institutional strategy. Scott Lowen, president of Pantera Capital Management, noted that while retail investors often focus on 6- to 12-month market cycles, financial institutions operate on 10-year horizons. Lowen highlighted that major Wall Street firms including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, and JPMorgan are actively implementing blockchain technology and expanding access to digital asset funds for institutional clients.
The panel also addressed the intersection of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology. Ava Labs founder and CEO Emin Gün Sirer cautioned that valuations in the broader AI sector currently reflect inflated expectations reminiscent of past speculative crypto cycles. However, speakers agreed that decentralized infrastructure will provide vital competition to centralized AI labs. Sirer shared that Ava Labs is incorporating AI directly into validator networks, enabling users to execute smart contracts and manage transactions using native language prompts across parallel blockchain rails.
Looking to the future of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, the executives noted that adoption is advancing rapidly in alternative assets, property records, and cross-border finance. DCG Chief Strategy Officer Simon Cowell and Sirer pointed out that tokenization provides critical access to financial products in emerging markets while lowering transaction costs globally. Sirer cited practical implementations already live on Avalanche, such as FIFA event ticketing and digitized property deeds in Bergen County, New Jersey, predicting that blockchain backends will eventually power daily financial transactions without end users needing to navigate underlying technical complexities.
